01 The system
1.1 The glass canopy projects 1.000 mm. The glass is VSG 16 mm thick and sits at an inclination of 10°.
1.2 The inclination can be adjusted: with shimming at the profile, the canopy deviates from the horizontal by up to about 25° upwards or downwards.
1.3 The length of the canopy depends on the glass width: with 1.600 mm glass the canopy is 1.616 mm long.
Tip: Other lengths: glass 1.200 mm = canopy 1.216 mm, 1.400 mm = 1.416 mm, 2.000 mm = 2.016 mm.
02 Fit the profile
2.1 Align the substructure.
2.2 Hold the profile in place and use it to determine the fixing points. The holes in the profile are 200 mm apart.
2.3 Fix the profile to the substructure or the building with regulated, approved fasteners.
Caution: Choose the fixing to suit the structural analysis and the type of wall.
2.4 Slide the rear bearing strip into the upper groove.
Caution: The strip projects about 5 mm beyond the profile on the left and right.
2.5 Place the clamping bars in the inner notch of the profile: spacing 200 mm, at least 3 per pane.
2.6 Insert the front bearing strip into the groove provided.
03 Insert the glass
3.1 Slide the glass pane in as far as the profile stop.
Caution: Move glass only with two people and wearing gloves.
3.2 Fix the glass pane on both sides with the safety blocks.
3.3 Press the front bearing seal between the glass and the profile.
3.4 Stick the silicone buffers at regular intervals on the top edge and front edge of the profile.
04 Cover trim and finish
4.1 Place the cover trim on the profile.
4.2 Fit the side covers at both ends.
4.3 Fix the side covers and the cover trim with the locking screws.
05 Align the glass joints
5.1 Insert both panes as described in chapters 2 and 3. If one pane sits lower than the other, there is a pane offset.
5.2 If there is a pane offset, place an additional EPDM strip under the front bearing strip. Then the panes are flush.
Choose the fixing to suit the structural analysis and the type of wall: use only regulated, approved fasteners. Never carry or lay glass on your own.
